FEMALE (DAMS)
DOGS AT AA SOUTH DAKOTA PHEASANT HUNTING
Our
lines include 5x National Field Champion Rawhides Clown, Hega-Haus, Moesgaards,
Hillhaven Huster, Rusty, Stradivarius and many German imports up close.
All of our
females here at Little River Pheasant Hunts are excellent working guide
dogs, very well bred with good confirmation, genetic stability and intelligent
with wonderful dispositions.
We only
breed the best females we can find. We strive to produce uniform litters
of superior quality puppies. Almost all of our puppies are sight pointing
pheasant wings by seven or eight weeks of age. If we have a female that
doesn't produce this early pointing trait, she is spayed and sold as a
gundog to a family home.
We produce
closer working foot hunting dogs for the gentleman hunter as well as great
family pets. We also have many dogs that have titled in competition homes
and have several running at this time.
We believe
you deserve the best product your money can buy and we take that very serious.
This is why we are so picky about what females we have litters out of and
which ones we never even try. Even a great looking guide dog with all the
ability in the world will get culled out of our breeding program, spayed
and sold to a gundog family if she is not producing the type of puppies
that we have become accustomed to producing.
We have
many references available from both new owners that have purchased a puppy
or started dog from us within the last few months. We also have many references
available from first time and repeat customers that have owned dogs of
ours for years.

Not all dogs are up to date as we
train and sell many dogs so some are not on the page yet.
Rosie is a three year old, very
good guide dog. She has tons of drive in the field but will fall asleep
on you riding in the truck to the next field. She produces fabulous puppies.
Rosie is a close working dog with
plenty of speed and quickness. She is very well mannered in the yard and
field alike.
Rosie is a great little guide dog
for us that gets along with everyone and their dogs. She is obedience trained,
collar conditioned, whoa broke, backs naturally, steady as a rock on point,
retrieves to hand naturally and does well in the water. She is great in
the kennel and is not a vocal dog at all.

Haley is a two and a half year
old fire ball in the field. She is very gentle around children. Haley has
been guiding with us for two seasons now and has done a fantastic job.
She is obedience trained, collar
conditioned, whoa broke, backs naturally, steady on point, retrieves to
hand naturally, quarters at about 30 yards and is a bird finding machine.
She is great in the kennel and is not a vocal dog.

Sara is one of our best guide dogs.
She is pure lightning in the field. She is very well natured and intelligent.
Sara was so full of point and natural
ability it made her training a breeze. She is truely a dog with the speed
and nose to compete very well in timed competition events. She does it
all.
Sara is collar conditioned, whoa
broke, force broke, obedience trained, backs naturally, very steady on
point, switches direction on "hupp" or the whistle, comes in immediately
when called, repositions on birds, quarters naturally at 35-40 yards but
is easy to keep shorten up if you want.
She will work the entire line of
hunters whether there are five or fifteen. I can also check her up so she
only works in front of me but being a guide dog I have to teach them to
work the line.
It is hard to find a dog that is
as stylish in the field. She is one of those dogs that seem to glide instead
of run.You probably won't see a more stylish looking dog on point anywhere.
She is a true natural. Very well bred.
Sara will be having her first litter
of puppies early in 2007. She is going to be bred to Gunner, one of our
stud dogs. Their pedigrees match up great. This should be a very good breeding.
We are excited to see what this combination produces.

Not all dogs are up to date as we
train and sell many dogs so some are not on the page yet.
Daisy is the best guide dog we
have at the ranch and that is saying a lot for her. She is flawless as
a gundog.
Daisy is a very methodical worker.
She absolutely does it all. It has gotten to the point now if she misses
a bird in the field and another dog locks up or if she can't find a cripple
we are very surprised.
She has the disposition everyone
is looking for in a dog. She has plenty of go in the field but is under
total control at all times. She is more then willing to play with you in
the house but if you tell her to lay down she is snoring in ten minutes.
She will crawl right in your pocket with you if you would let her. I don't
have to nick this dog but maybe one out of every three times we are in
the field and then it is only one very low nick.
As far as training and natural ability
goes, Daisy has and does it all. She is a fully broke dog. From naturally
backing to great water work she is fantastic.
Daisy is pregnant in this picture
and will whelp late January 2007. She is a beautiful dog and this picture
doesn't do her any justice. This is her first litter and we are more then
excited to see the quality that comes from this breeding. We have no doubt
it is going to be fantastic.

Dottie is a good of a bird dog
as she is pretty. She is very flashy in the field and a real bird machine.
Dottie really moves in the field.
She is another one of those dogs that seem to float as they are running.
It is effortless when she moves.
The minute you put her feet on the
ground her little wheels are spinning out. She has just about as good of
a personality as you could ask for in a gundog. She is hot in the field,
under total control, and a couch potato in the house.
Dottie isn't happy unless she is
sharing your favorite easy chair with you. She is just an all around fantastic
little dog.
Dot is obedience trained, force
broke, whoa broke, collar conditioned, switching direction on "hupp" or
the whistle, comes right back in on the whistle or by name, naturally backs
other dogs, totally steady on point, steady to wing and shot, hits the
water hard, she simply does it all.
Dottie is a close second behind
Daisy as being our best guide dog and she has a year less experience in
the field.
Dottie is also going to whelp a
litter sired by Gunner in mid February.

Not all dogs are up to date as we

Pearl is a great little guide dog
for us here at the lodge. She has a very classic point. She ranges at about
30-35 yards, steady on point, whoa broke, collar conditioned, obedience
trained, force broke, switch's direction on "hupp" or the whistle, comes
right in on the whistle or call name, steady to wing and shot, naturally
backs other dogs, does exceptionally well at finding cripples in the thick,
4' tall CRP grass, and really has a delightful personality. She wants to
be everyone's buddy.
Pearl is a solid black female out
of Moesgaard's and Hega-Haus breeding. She is not vocal in the kennel and
is right at home in the house.
Everyone should be so lucky as to
have a gundog like Pearl.

Patch's is simply a bird finding
machine. Her first season with us she was pulling cripples out of the CRP
our older dogs couldn't find. You could tell early she was going to be
one of the dogs that would be very difficult to replace if you lost her.
Patch's also does it all. Obedience
trained, force broke(retrieved to hand naturally) whoa broke, collar conditioned,
steady to wing and shot, steady as a rock on point, repositions well on
birds when given an "OK" command, goes to the water good, ranges about
30 yards with a lot of parallel speed. She will also work an entire line
or just in front of me if I want to check her up.
Patch's is going to have her first
litter this year. She should whelp around mid February. I am especially
interested in this breeding because she is one of Gunner's puppies.
Patch's has been bred to an outstanding
gundog raised and trained her at the ranch. He was sold to a gentleman
in Texas. This young male was more then capable of running high level competition.
He was Moesgaard's and Hega-Haus breeding as well.
This should be a very nice litter.

Katie is a nice little liver and
white female who just went through her first hunting season with us. She
did a very good job for her first season. She got her share of points and
retrieves while being in the field with several other very experienced
dogs at the same time.
Katie is intelligent and accepts
training nicely. She is obedience trained, force broke, collar conditioned,
steady on point, whoa broke, backs other dogs naturally and has a fantastic
disposition. She is a very classy little dog to watch work.
Katie is all business when she is
in the field, otherwise she is all play. She will bring you something to
throw for her if your not paying attention to her. She has made a fine
addition to our guide dog program. I only look for her to get better everyday
training this season. She should be absolutely fantastic at the end of
the 2007 hunting season.
